Collegiate Institution plans, Soho Street, Liverpool

In 1840, Sir George Gilbert Scott entered a competition to design this building, which was won by Elmes. Scott came second out of twelve entries. The conditions stipulated that the design should be in a Tudor style and of red stone cased inside with brick. The site was moved to Shaw Street soon after the competition.
