St Mary's, Hillington

In 1873, Sir George Gilbert Scott restored St Mary’s Church, carrying out general repairs and restorations as well as removing the box pews. During the course of the restorations, wall paintings of St Christopher and a checker board pattern were revealed. Scott’s fees of £91 were paid in 1883, after his death.
