St David's Cathedral, Hobart
St David’s Cathedral, Hobart was designed in 1868 by George Frederick Bodley, the great-granduncle of Elizabeth Scott (Hoare).
Bodley was a pupil of Sir George Gilbert Scott and went on to create Watts & Company with his son, George Gilbert Scott in 1874.
On 18 June 1821, the first chaplain of Van Diemen’s Land, the Reverend Robert Knopwood, married Moses Moses and Sarah Brown, the grandparents of Australian-born Alice West Moses (also known as Alice O’Hara), the mother of Elizabeth Hoare (nee Scott) who was the great grand niece of George Bodley. Alongside George Gilbert Scott Jr., Bodley co-founded clerical dress and interior furnishings company Watts & Co.
