St Matthew's, Montreal Road, Taylor Street, Leicester

This church was built by Sir George Gilbert Scott in 1865-7 in thirteenth century style out of Mountsorrel granite with red brick window surrounds and buttresses. It was a hall church with nave, aisles, chancel and tall lancets. The original planned tower was never built and it was demolished in around 1988.
