Luscombe Chapel, Luscombe

Built by Sir George Gilbert Scott in 1862 at Nash’s Luscombe Castle and as Pevsner said, somewhat ‘incongruously’ attached to the house. As the Devon County Council website puts it, ‘The chapel was unfortunately added by Scott in 1862’. A plain building on the outside, the interior is in Scott’s Early English style, with colourful elaborate ironwork.
