Workhouse, Wellingborough Road, Northampton

This workhouse was built between 1836 to the Commissioners Plan in a Classical style. It was to house 300 inmates and cost around £7,000. It was built from brick with stone dressings and slate roofs, the centre three stories high. It became St Edmund’s Hospital before being redeveloped.
