St Gregory the Great, Old Ruttington Lane, Canterbury

Sir George Gilbert Scott built this church between 1849-52 as a memorial to Archbishop Howley (archbishop 1828-48) in a Decorated style in flint with stone dressings. In 1849 it was estimated to cost £3,425 and was to have a south aisle and a north chancel aisle, but it was pared back to the contracted price of £2,240.
