St Barnabus, Bromborough
Between 1862-4, Sir George Gilbert Scott built a large Early English style church for Charles Kynaston Mainwaring who gave £2,000 towards the cost. (see also Trefnant, Wales). It has a north-east steeple with a broach spire and an apse. As Pevsner noted, ‘the interior is sound, but not memorable’.
